Ride on Railways is a family run business based in Romford, Essex producing quality engineered ride on railway items for 5" and 7 1/4" gauge railways. While initially aimed at the garden railway market, the robust designs have found themselves equally at home on the larger private and club layouts. OUR SERVICES In 2008 we moved to a small business unit along with investment in workshop equipment which we couldn't previously accommodate. Where ever possible we use UK manufactures/suppliers but we have to be realistic as we all live in a global market.

Ride on Railways is a family run business based in Romford, Essex producing value engineered ride on railway items for 5 and 7 1/4" gauge railways.

While initially aimed at the garden railway market, the robust designs have found themselves equally at home on the larger private and club layouts.

The joy of having your own ride on railroad around your garden can not be matched in any other scale. These locomotives are capable of hauling several passengers on a ride.

We build a full range of battery electric locomotives with deisel outline as well as the new Quary Hunslet steam outline locomotive in 5 inch gauge/ We also sell a range of rolling stock for passenger carrying as well as goods wagons and accessories. We also supply parts so people can build their own.

Ride On Railways supplies locomotives such as the Trojan and Jasper 0-4-0 diesel outline shunter, the herculese Bo-Bo diesel and a hunslet 0-4-0 saddle tank loco. The 5 inch gauge Trojan is also available as a tram locomotive, saddle tank locomotive. 

They also supply a range of rolling stock and accessories as well a coach bogies to enable people to build their own carriages.

We are also supplying 7.25 inch gauge locomotives, rolling stock and accessories.
